Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

The short version: SubSnitch does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your data. Everything happens locally in your browser. Period.

Data Collection

SubSnitch does not collect any personal data, browsing history, form inputs, or any other information. We have no servers that receive data from the extension. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking of any kind.

How SubSnitch Works

All page scanning and analysis happens entirely within your browser using local JavaScript. The extension:

No data ever leaves your browser. No network requests are made by the extension except to check for pattern database updates.

Local Storage

SubSnitch uses chrome.storage.local to store:

This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the extension.

Third-Party Services

SubSnitch does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar tools — not even on this website.

Gmail Scanner

The optional Gmail scanning feature, if enabled, processes your emails entirely within your browser. Email content is never sent to our servers or any third party. The feature uses Google's OAuth solely to grant read access within your local browser session.

Transparency

SubSnitch is built with transparency as a core principle. We believe a tool designed to promote honesty should itself be honest.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Given our commitment to zero data collection, we do not anticipate significant changes.
